HOW
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
In 2009, when the world was just beginning to take global warming seriously, three women in Malaysia came together—one tall, one round, and one right in between. Different in shape and style, but united by one thing: a shared urge to make a difference.
At the time, lighting was still stuck in the past. Energy-saving bulbs were everywhere—familiar but dangerous, silently leaching mercury into our land and water with every discarded piece. Millions ended up in landfills each year in Malaysia alone.
We couldn’t look away. So we founded DESS—a lighting company powered not just by technology, but by care, purpose, and heart. From the start, we committed to 100% green LED lighting, knowing full well that many would scoff at our prices and our passion. But we believed. We weren’t in it to cut corners—we were in it to light the way forward.
Focus on Quality
In an ideal world this text wouldn’t exist, a client would acknowledge the importance of having web copy before the design starts. Needless to say it’s very important, content is king and people are beginning to understand that. However, back over in reality some project schedules and budgets don’t allow for web copy to be written before the design phase, this is sad but true. We’re here to help, we’ve written examples of web copy for over 40 industries for you to use at concept phase of your projects to bring a little life and realism to your designs and help you think about who and what you are designing for. We want clients and designers alike to think about their graphic design.
